After you have found the right shape and seating capacity table, thoroughly measure the space you have available for the table, chairs and guests. Some extra elements to consider are:
- Standard Height: Dining table height is typically 28"-30" (71-76 cm).
- Space Per Diner: Allow about 24" (61 cm) of table width per person for a comfortable seating arrangement.
- Chair Spacing: Ensure there is enough space for chairs to be pulled out. It is ideal to have about 36" (91 cm) of clearance between the table edge and any walls or furniture.
